NEW DELHI: Bartronics India has won the rights to set up 2,000 Government-to-Citizen kiosks in identified locations under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, while Selvel Media Services has bagged the advertising rights. Bartronics will set up these 2000 kiosks by October 2010.
 The first 300 such kiosks, meant to be a one-stop interface to the citizens for interactions with various government bodies, would be functional within four months.
 Sudhir Rao, MD and COO, Bartronics India, said, “Bartronics will set up 2,000 kiosks at identified locations within MCD’s jurisdiction. The first set of 300 kiosks would be open to public by October 2009 while the last set will be ready by October 2010, just in time for the Commonwealth Games”.
Said Rao, “Bartronics has entered into understanding with a few companies to outsource some of the functions. On the advertising space selling side, the company has a tie-up with outdoor advertising company Selvel Media and will also look at other outdoor advertising agencies in due course of time. On the Information Technology infrastructure front, the company has a tie-up with IBM. For manning the kiosks, the company is looking at a few NGOs in Delhi and similarly for security purposes, the company would tie up with a few security agencies.”
Uday Ganguly, senior general manager, Selvel Media Services, said, “We have formed a consortium, as per which the rights for outdoor advertising will remain with Selvel Media Services.”
 Amiya Chandra, additional deputy commissioner and head - advertisements & remuneration project cell, MCD, said, “MCD will earn revenues of Rs 101 crore from the G2C kiosk tender per annum.”
Said Rao, “The G2C kiosk is expected to provide a one-stop interface to the citizens of Delhi for all their interactions with the various government bodies. These include requests for services like payment of electricity, water bills, telephone bills, birth and death certificates, passport applications etc. About 17 such services have been identified which will be provided through these kiosks”.
